June 2006, PeaceRoots made the scene at the Bonnaroo festival in Manchester, Tennesee. PRA board member Ramon Bloomfield (center) and five other PRA volunteers provided festival goers with a place to get out of the sun and express their creativity with the interactive mural project pictured above.

Using the word 'PeaceRoots' as our theme, visitors to our booth added their artistic touch to the space inside and surrounding each letter, many writing personal peace statements.

PeaceRoots volunteers engaged the festival participants in conversations about the war, the peace movement, and passed out literature. The booth gave us the opportunity to speak with a large number of young people about the realities of military service and alternative sources for financial assistance for education.
